Taj Mahal

Commissioned in 1631 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, the Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum in Agra, India. Built to honor his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this UNESCO World Heritage site required over 20,000 artisans and 22 years to complete. It is universally celebrated for its flawless symmetry and intricate pietra dura inlay work.
